Choose to move forward, do something about whatever you don’t like instead of just constantly moaning about it. Choose resilience. Choose to remember that life is not fair. Choose to acknowledge that crap happens in life, and that you have to find a way to pick yourself up afterwards.
Choose feeling positive, because that feeling is a whole lot better than feeling shit all the time. Choose to travel, see new places, experience new things. Choose to not travel, be content at home. Choose to be yourself, celebrate all that you are and all that you are not. Choose to accept yourself. Choose to accept your life. Choose to do something about changing your life if you don’t like it. Choose to use your energy for changing, not whingeing.
Choose to spend as much time as you can doing the things you love. Choose to minimise the time you spend doing the things that make you feel unhappy.
Choose to stop worrying about things that don’t matter. Choose your battles. Choose to not need external validation.
Choose to remember that life is short, that our days are numbered, that we do not know what may happen tomorrow. Choose to remember that there is no ‘right time’. Choose to remember that there is no such thing as perfection.
Choose to remember that whatever you do, there will be someone who can do it better, or who doesn’t like what you do. Choose to say it doesn’t matter. Choose to stick two fingers up at the haters and carry on regardless.
Choose to say that stuff doesn’t matter. Choose to say it does. Choose whatever makes you feel happy, whatever gives you purpose, a reason to get up in the morning. Choose a purpose for your existence. Choose to contribute to life, in whatever way you can.
Choose your friends. Choose positive people who lift you up, not bring you down. Choose to spend time with them putting the world to rights over a glass(es) of wine. Choose to wake up the next morning with a sore head and say you are never, ever, drinking that much again. Choose to do exactly that again the following weekend. Choose to be sociable. Choose to hibernate when you need to, recharge, rejuvenate.
Choose to spend all your time on social media. Choose to make friends, find new stuff. Choose to be inspired. Choose to ignore all the posts that suggest their lives are better than yours. Choose to remember that it’s bollocks, that life is not a competition, that we’re all struggling in our own way.
Choose to be healthy. Choose a better relationship with food, to see food as food, not good or bad. Choose to workout as a way of dealing with negative emotions rather than stuffing your face with cake. Choose to feel awesome.
Choose living, not just existing.
Choose hope. Choose love.
Choose a future.
