Hello! Thank you for all the love on my Instagram style posts.

Here’s this week’s details on what I wore.

Christmas Jumper

Monday was my work team’s Christmas meal, so to get in to the spirit I wore my Selfish Mother Sparkle jumper to work that day.

I teamed it with a navy and white print flippy skirt by Joules – really it’s a summer skirt but with opaque black tights beneath it was fine for the winter. The floatiness of the fabric also helped balance out the thickness of the jumper.

Being a lover of bright colours, the ensemble was a lot darker than I would typically wear, so I livened it up with a multicoloured statement necklace from White Stuff.

My make-up was in darker hues than usual – a dark brown eyeshadow, and deep plum lip to prevent it looking too ‘cutesy’. We can’t have that…I’m a boxing badass!

To Belt… Or Not To Belt?

At the office on Wednesday I wore one of my favourite dresses – this teal number with broderie anglaise detail from White Stuff.

It’s the most comfortable dress; made of stretchy jersey, I just pop it on and it hugs in all the right places. It’s the type of frock that is suitable for a multitude of occasions, depending on how it is accessorised.

I popped on a burgundy Boden cardi, and a bright yellow statement necklace from Joules. After looking at the photos (that’s my cat Oscar’s bum, he was happily wrapping himself around my legs) I decided a belt would be the perfect finishing touch.

This dark grey sparkly skinny belt from Next ties the outfit together: it accentuates my waist and as it is a neutral colour doesn’t make me look like a Christmas tree.

Don’t worry, I didn’t wear my slippers to work! On my feet were my trusty Clarks silver brogues, which you can see in last week’s What I Wore post.

I Heart Stripes

It wasn’t so long ago I thought that with my curves I couldn’t/shouldn’t wear stripes. That was until I tried on a stripy tee back in the spring…I now can’t get enough of them!

Stripes – or Breton tops as they are also known – are a fab way of making a simple top for every day look a bit more special, especially if they have bright pops of colour or other detail. My favourite is a white and neon stripe Breton short-sleeved tee – I’m sure you’ll be seeing more of that in the warmer months.

In the meantime we have this heart and stripe long-sleeved top from Boden. I love that the hearts look like someone has had fun with a Sharpie!

I wasn’t at work that day, so was able to take the photo with some natural light – what a difference it makes. Yet another reason to say roll on Spring!
