My outfit of the day posts are popular over on Instagram. Followers often leave kind comments about the bright colours and how I combine them, accessories, and dressing for my hourglass shape.

I thought I’d start a new blog series featuring a couple of the previous week’s ensembles to give you some inspiration, too.

This week’s outfits feature a look for the office, and an outfit for a day off and breakfast with a friend.

Sparkle At Work

At work we’re required to look smart and presentable, but besides that there is no particular dress code.

I like to express my personality through my clothes, and this outfit is the perfect compromise.

The Boden glitter spot top might not be the obvious complement for the Joules (past season) floral design flippy skirt, but it works. A pink cardi (also by Boden) balances it out.

On my feet are my Clarks silver brogues, the perfect addition to any outfit. They are ridiculously comfy, and the ribbons add a feminine touch.

The weather earlier this week was blissfully and unseasonably mild, but the moisture in the air made my wavy hair rebel: oh well, I guess plenty of women spend ages with products and tools to get these waves so I mustn’t complain!

Don’t be afraid to mix patterns and textures – it might break all the ‘rules’ we learned when we were younger, but experiment and go for it!

A Day Off

This jumper, again by Boden (now out of stock unfortunately), is one of my favourites (meaning I was keen to show it off even though the picture was taken after I had been slobbered by two magnificent very affectionate St Bernard dogs after breakfast with my friend). I love the pattern and colour scheme.

I paired the jumper with a White Stuff denim pencil skirt (past season). It’s rare I find a pencil skirt that I want to buy because they are usually restrictive and I like to be comfy, but this one has enough stretch to move but still maintain the silhouette.

On my feet are my Fly ankle boots. I don’t wear heels, but the platform soles on these give a lift without hurting my feet.
